The day terror and barbarism won. We thought so.
I was in my Accountancy tuition class when America was under attack. And very few of us could comprehend what just unfolded in front of our eyes. I remember seeing it on the boxed television of those days, but I don’t remember much. Never understood what happened and why it happened. I was 21. Took me a few years to understand the true meaning and the devastation of 9/11. I also understood, the world and our lives will never be the same again.
Today, I have watched some staggering pictures, unbelievable video footage and documentaries that talk about the impact of 9/11 across the world. Merely watching them today after 25 years, I can only exude unimaginable feelings that words cannot explain. For people who have survived this horrific day, I bow down. For the ones who did not survive, our prayers are with the families of the deceased.
An act of war. America declared the ‘War on Terror’, and the next 20 years rained hate and retribution. But nothing can bring back those lives we lost that day.
25 years. Nothing is forgotten. We will never forget.
