We lived around the port in Edinburgh. Leith is one of the newest developing areas in Edinburgh in the last 10 years or so. While its reputation is quite livid and filled with stories from the past, it is undoubtedly one of the most delicious and enchanting suburban areas in Edinburgh.
We loved the place. Ocean terminal was 15 minutes walk, well connected to the City Centre, buses available every 5-7 minutes to almost every corner of the city and mostly, we found the place very peaceful. The surrounding areas around the port and backwaters really spurs you on.
On a sunny day, if you happen to walk around during sunset, the place is unbelievably beautiful and tempting. Quite a few apartments are coming up in and around Ocean Terminal, which is quite alluring. You can watch the cruise and maritime traffic (though it was silent when we lived there till 2023) live, which could be worth a watch while sipping tea in your balcony.
We miss those days.
